Description

Sorts the data of the specified input file according to the specified parameters and writes the results accordingly.

Syntax

SORT [/R] [/+n] [/M kilobytes] [/L locale] [/REC recordbytes] [[drive1:][path1]filename1] [/T [drive2:][path2]] [/O [drive3:][path3]filename3]

Parameters

/R	Reverse the order of sorting operation as Z to A then 9 to 0.
/+n	Specifies the starting number of character to begin the sorting. Default is the first character.
/M kilobytes	Specifies the memory size for the sort.
/L locale	Specifies the locale to override the system default locale.
/REC recordbytes	Specifies the maximum number of characters in a record. Default is 4096 and the maximum is 65535.
[drive1:][path1]filename1	Specifies the input file to be sorted.
/T [drive2:][path2]	Specifies the path of temporary working storage for the sorting.
/O [drive3:][path3]filename3	Specifies the path for the storage of output file of the sorted input.
