Tips:

1. The cache of chrome is located at "C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache" on WinXP    last updated 13Jun2016

2. The cache of chrome can be redirected to another directory on WinXP with NTFS file system using linkd.exe from Microsoft.com https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17657 . In CMD window, type linkd "C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache" "R:\newCache"    last updated 13Jun2016

3. To Stop Chrome from opening on Startup. Open Task Manager and select Startup tab, then change the status of Google Chrome from Enabled to Disabledlast updated 27Dec2021
4. To Stop Chrome from continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed. Click ⋮ in the top right corner of the Chrome Windows and select Settings to open the Settingstab, chrome://settings/system. Click Advanced to expand the menu items.
