Extensible Markup Language (xml)

Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple, flexible text format derived from SGML (ISO 8879). XML uses semantic tags in a structured format to create information formats, and share both data and meta-data with other applications and users.

XML Declaration

The XML declaration is used to identify the document as being XML.

Syntax

<?xml version="version_number" encoding="encoding_declaration" standalone="standalone_status" ?>

Arguments

Use 'no' if the XML document is linked to an external DTD, or any external entity references
