Imbiah Nature Trail Nestled within Mount Imbiah, this 2.3km nature trail weaves through lush forests on an 80m-tall hill, taking 30 to 40 minutes to complete. Home to rich biodiversity, the trail features impressive flora like the Sea Apple Tree, the Milkwood Tree, and Pandan Palm, as well as fauna such as Golden Orb Spiders. Different parts of the trail showcase distinct plant life. The northern slopes, exposed to the Northeast Monsoon, differ in species from the southern slopes, which face the Southwest Monsoon. These different conditions, along with the variations in soil layers, contribute to the trail’s high biodiversity. Informative signboards and wayfinding maps along the route offer insights into this ecosystem. Don’t miss scenic stops like the Tempinis Cascade “waterfall”, named after the local Tempinis trees.
Imbiah Battery From 1878, Fort Siloso was constructed to defend the western entrance to Keppel Harbour and the straits around Singapore. Built on Mount Siloso, the fort includes artillery and antiaircraft emplacements, as well as machine gun, search light, and command posts. There is also an extensive network of barracks, casemates, underground magazines and tunnels built into the hill.
The fort was designed by Colonial Engineer Henry McCallum, who also oversaw its construction.
