The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

imageThe magnificent Fullerton Building is a grand neoclassical landmark built in 1928. Gazetted in December 2015 as a National Monument, it was once home to Singapore’s General Post Office, the Exchange, Chamber of Commerce, and the prestigious Singapore Club. For nearly a century, it played a pivotal role in Singapore’s rich history. Today, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore has been transformed into a stunning 400-room heritage hotel.

Merlion Park

imageAn imaginary creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, the Merlion was designed for the Singapore Tourist Promotion Board in 1964 as a promotional logo for the island. The Merlion Park was expanded and the large Merlion statue was placed at the edge of the park near the mouth of the river facing east, which was an auspicious direction according to Chinese geomancy principles.

War Memorial Park

imageThe War Memorial Park was created to remember all civilian victims who perished in World War II. Annual memorial services are held here on 15 February.

Raffles Hotel Singapore
